When you feel like shutting it all down

Here's what you can do...

When the emotions are coming on so strong and you want to erupt or shut down, rather than resist them... let them out!

Often, instead of experiencing our emotions, we get so scared of what will come of them, that we try to repress or deny them.

In the end, those emotions will eventually come to the surface, but after having repressed them, they will erupt in a much less welcome way.

We may start...

* Acting out. Snapping at people over the littlest things.
* Giving the silent treatment, because we're so upset or hurt and haven't processed our emotions
*Becoming physically violent, because we don't have other healthy tools to deal with our emotional upset
* Experiencing disease, chronic illness, panic attacks or other physical manifestations of our unprocessed emotional pain

Every time we stuff or deny an emotion, we add fuel to the fire of our inner unrest.

That's why INNER ACTIVATION is such an amazing approach. It unlocks massive mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual energy that's been begging for expression and release.

It allows you to see yourself with clarity, and with that new awareness, you can take new actions.

In my life, I'm managing so many things that there are bound to be times where things go off track.

I've often experienced the desire to want to shut it all down. And I do! Sometimes I give in to the feeling for just a moment, or a few minutes. Other times, it takes me longer to move through. But always, when I give myself the space the feelings pass.

Two things are essential:

1) Allow yourself to experience your emotions. Don't avoid, deny, or repress your feelings. They'll just wreak more havoc later. Find a safe space to offload and feel.

2) Have a plan to get back on track. This is where and why it's crucial to have a vision for the life you want. You need a reason to move forward so you don't stay stuck where you are. Those heavy emotions can take over and keep you shut down for good (or for a really long time!), if you don't have a vision to pivot to and pull you through.

That's the point of having a support system in place or being part of a program. It will help you to move through the rough times and leverage the energy of the good. As a result you can positively move through your emotions and keep creating and spreading more goodness in the world.

So when you want to shut it all down, give yourself a break.

Pause for a moment.

Literally, take a breath.

Take whatever time you can give yourself, even if it means taking a breath now and scheduling more time later.

Rather than just being focused on pushing through and denying your experience, make space to be true to you.

Your feelings matter. Just don't allow them to take the reins of your life without careful contemplation and intention.

A wild stallion is no good to itself, but a stallion with clear focus, direction and vision is unstoppable and a beauty to behold.

You got this!

This is your life.

Go be your best you!

In love and light,
Debra
