AUTHENTIC LIVING: Living Truth in Peace.

What is Authentic Living?

Authentic Living is about living truth. Your truth. The truth that lights you up inside when you live it. It gives you energy and strength that sometimes surprises you. You feel so delighted by it that you can't help but smile. Only you can know what it is for you.

It's also a truth you feel within you so acutely, that when you ignore it, you also feel yourself cringe. It may be a tightening in your throat, your belly, or your chest. You may get a sudden headache, grit your teeth or clench your jaw. Whatever it is, however slight, you know it when you feel it. It's the internal indication that lets you know you've strayed from your authenticity. You know the truth is there.

And that's good news!!! Because if you can feel any of those of things, you know that Authentic Living is within your reach. You know your truth is available to you.

The real trouble comes when you've strayed so far from your truth that you're no longer willing or able to feel. When your justifications, rationalizations, or self-medications come so fast, that those guideposts of truth are numbed or imperceptible between your body and your mind. Sometimes all you want to do is hide.

Yet all is not lost. That just means you have more work to do to get back on track. Maybe what you need for a time is a break. Authentic Living is still an option.

Life is just a series of experiences and choices. All of which lead you to precisely where you need to be. Choose your own adventure.

The choice of Authentic Living just offers genuine fulfillment and  life-affirming love along the way. You also get to enjoy the freedom and ease of being your authentic self. Those are your rewards for doing the work of moving through pain and fear as you progress through life. If you want it, soul-satisfying joy also is there for you.

This is your invitation to Authentic Living - Body, Mind, and Spirit. No B.S. here. Just truth.

Keep it positive as you keep it real.

Let the Authentic Living journey continue!

In love and light,
Debra

What the world needs now

I was recently writing an email to a friend and reflecting on what the world needs now. With so much unprecedented activity happening and so many shifts on a personal and global level, what is the world calling for?

While new people are coming awake to violence and pain that exists in the world, there are also many reaffirming a status quo that meets their need to preserve a sense of safety and security. Sometimes these two dynamics are happening within the same one person. That is the truth of humanity. We care complex beings with a mix of emotions and experiences.

From a worldly perspective, there is no telling what is to come for sure and where the future will lead us. I do know the future is calling.

Is the future one where we will be hugging each other in person and not just virtually? Is it one where hugs will replace handcuffs, and healing will resolve fear?

I can't that answer for everyone, but I do have an answer about the future for me. I hear the same call I always hear. I hear the world asking for all it ever wants. You know what I'm going to say.... Love.That's what I consistently hear the world asking for. More love. Yours and mine.

Who doesn't need more love?

We don't give it when we think others don't deserve it. Even when it's all someone truly wants and needs in order to heal and start giving more love too.

Loving is a simple idea, yet sometimes so hard to live. Especially if we've grown up where love means neglect, or pain, or punishment by its withdrawal. When we don't have any idea of what healthy love looks or feels like.

Example: I am a proponent of "pro-", rather than "anti-" anything. My purpose is in creating the world I want to see, rather than fighting against what exists. I see transformation as the unavoidable outcome of love in action. No need to fight. I have seen that truth play out countless times (in real life, not just in movies!) And that's where I put most of my energy: in cultivating love in myself and supporting others to do the same.

Love is no joke hard work (ask married people!), and it's also the simplest most effortless beautiful thing (ask married people!). Either way, the world wouldn't exist without it. So I invite you to keep reaching for it, exploring it, and showing it to the world.

In everything you do, be love as much as possible.

In love and light,
Debra
